As designers and manufacturers, we believe that we have a responsibility to ensure our products are as sustainable as possible—from raw materials to recycling and reuse at the end of their life. To act on this belief, we have developed processes and policies that guide our decision making and behaviour.

Our built environment currently contributes a staggering 39% of global energy-related carbon emissions, with materials and construction accounting for 11% of that figure. This significant impact has spurred key players in the building industry to prioritise sustainability.

With 40 – 50% of New Zealand’s landfill waste generated by the construction and demolition industry, it’s clear there is a significant issue with the way we handle construction materials and the kind of materials we are using in our buildings.
